Health & Social Care Professionals working with carers
As a professional working in the health, social care or voluntary sector, you will come into contact with people who are unpaid carers. Many people don't recognise themselves as carers and are unaware they are entitled to our free support services. By working together we can identify more carers and ensure that they receive information and support throughout their caring journey. 

 

Who are carers?

Carers provide unpaid care for a family member, friend or neighbour who, due to illness, disability, mental health difficulties or an addiction cannot manage without their support. 

 

Who are we?

Sheffield Carers Service is part of Crossroads Care Rotherham (Charity No: 1062664) and offers a range of support for unpaid adult carers over the age of 18.

Carers who live in Sheffield (regardless of where the cared-for person lives):

can access our universally available services including advice, information and group support.

​

If the cared-for person is an adult living in Sheffield:

carers can access all our support including our carer assessment service.
